I just got back from the Robin Hood British Pub with my writing class. It was cooooool. :) I had 2 Boddingtons and some good fish and chips. I will now frequent that establishment. It's nice to find little places that, from the outside, look like nothing, but are actually quite cool on the inside.
And, dare I say it, I think I charmed the pants off a few people. ;) See, I'm rather quiet in class, so they never really know what to say to me...then I open up in a casual environment and I had people rather interested and laughing. Yeah, I'm allowed to toot my own horn, occasionally.

I stayed up until 10:30am this morning finishing my portfolio. It wasn't done by then, so I decided to sleep until 1:30pm, knowing I could finish the last three assignments in an hour and a half (class starts at 3:30pm) Yeah...the alarm DID NOT go off and I woke up at 3pm. So I got to class at 4:30 pm, just in time for one discussion, then off to the pub. Nice.

My portfolio is okay. I'm proud of the stories and the dialogue exercise, the rest is just b.s. But profs seem to like my b.s., so we'll see. I'll probably take it again in the fall. :)

Writers are the coolest.
People with accents are sex-ay.
I should take a walk, but I've had a long day...so I think I'm going to enjoy my free time and veg in front of le teevee, as le roommate won't be home until 10pm. SOMEONE GIVE ME A DAMN MASSAGE! XD
Sleep on time tonight, work early, walk for lunch, then I can start reading books I want to read.
Most likely no school this summer. Second job.
Being in debt sucks. (yeah, newsflash, eh?)

What books do you plan on reading? That's been the best thing so far about being unemployed, I've actually had time to read.

Where do you think you will work for the second job? Have you talked to Keith anymore about Brentano's?

Second job? Ook.

I'm tired just from reading your posts. I don't know how you do it.

I thiiink I'm finally going to finish The Left Hand of Darkness and I know I have another one started somewhere...hmmmm....Lolita has been on my mind lately though, so I might check out more Nabakov.

Yeah, I'll probably call BrentAno's soon. :)

Somehow I got the impression that you work all sorts of crazy, long hours.

I do...but only to make up for my slacking off during the hours I'm SUPPOSED to be working. ;)

Ah.

What's The Left Hand of Darkness about? I just started reading Empire Falls, the recent Pulitzer Prize winner. Since moving, I've also read Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, Tepper Isn't Going Out, In the Drink, and something else I can't remember (I think a collection of short stories). I love being unemployed! (Not really as I really, REALLY want to spend money!)
