bitch-ass muthafucka
Mar. 17th, 2003 01:14 amI had the most awesome, simplistic day.
I spent hours, literally hours, just outside raking leaves. I think I was outside for 8 hours, just raking leaves...which was really just an excuse to be outside, with the added bonus of burning them later in the week. There's nothing like the smell of cool air and burning leaves, I fucking swear. Anyway, it was so nice today. So nice. Some cloud cover, so the sun wasn't a complete asshole. The temp was supremely generous with a mid 70's. It was a bit windy, but that was fucking nice too.
Of course, my Mother is taking off all week, so ask me how I'm feeling tomorrow. But for today, with both parents home, and my Grandpa stopped by to visit, it. was. nice. Mom and I did yardwork and Dad and I sat in the family room and read for hours. We didn't even really talk, but it was cool. I made dinner, which everyone liked, and THAT WAS COOL TOO. I still really, really want my own apartment and I need to get out of this town, but days like today erase the doubt that I made the wrong decision.
I took some really great photos this evening too. I'll put them up eventually. Weh.
I think I want to dye my hair. I can't go "odd" colored just yet (still job hunting), but I don't know. Maybe back to red, but that's so hard to get out. We'll see.
I applied with the State on Friday. It's for data entry. I took a typing test and did 124 keystrokes a minute and only made 3 errors ("errors" because I abbreviated "st." and "ave." a few times). It's a temporary gig, but I hope I get that. I don't know why I wouldn't.
I went to the library and rented movies on Friday. So far, I've watched Ringu, The Four Feathers, and an A&E special on the Oracle at Delphi. I'm also halfway done with David Sedaris', Me Talk Pretty One Day. I also checked out some Joyce, Plath, some mythology crap, and a bio on Louise Brooks. Dood, free books. Well, not free. But in L.A., I didn't go to the library because I worked in a bookstore. If I wanted a book, I generally, eventually, bought it...with my much-missed discount. *moment of silence*
I have had entirely too much tea today.
