Make me forget that I belong to a country that is so fucking two-faced, hypocritical, and arrogant. Make me forget about the "stupid white men" and the stupid black men, and the stupid men, and the stupid women. Make me forget that people are the same the world over, just different faces, different places...because it depresses me to no end.
I just want to know what the FUCK those soldiers were thinking?
And Jesus, if you could, and while you're at it...
Make me forget about 12 hour work-days and Medicare and the horrible imbalance of money in this country. Make me forget about old New York biddys who make $3,000 a month and then clamor for a fucking $600-A-FUCKING-YEAR credit while sweet, little ladies who only make $600 a month have to make decisions such as, "eat, or buy medicine". Make me forget about "Medicare-Approved Prescription Drug Cards" and Social Security and glucophage and fosamax and lipitor and norvasc. Make me forget about scripts and 20-30 minute phone calls and queues of 100 and more.
And make me forget about degrees and money and school and financial aid and moving and what I "need" vs. what I "want" and bills and juggling and the future and being fair and Getting Things Done and never getting anything done and what needs to get done and failure.
