Or stagnate.
Whichever.
This Lawrence.com blog is getting on my last nerve.
Yeah, whatta update, eh?
"There is something deeply suffocating about life today in the prosperous west. Bourgeoisification, the suburbanisation of the soul, proceeds at an unnerving pace. Tyranny becomes docile and subservient, and soft totalitarianism prevails, as obsequious as a wine waiter. Nothing is allowed to distress and unsettle us. The politics of the playgroup rules us all."
--J.G. Ballard
I've finished watching the first season of Six Feet Under and it's brilliant. I love the feeling of the show...probably because a lot of it was taken from one of my favorite writers, Thomas Lynch. I'm going to buy a ticket to Portland (OR) this weekend. Portlanders beware (emails to follow soon). I'll be going Oct. 13-19. I'm at the radio station now. Regular time for this semester, 4-6pm (today until 7pm.) School has started and my mind is elsewhere and everywhere. I want to move. I want. The new Adbusters magazine is very, very good.
"wandering between two worlds, one dead,
The other powerless to be born."
--Matthew Arnold
"The thing I hate most about advertising is that it attracts all the bright, creative and ambitious young people, leaving us mainly with the slow and self-obsessed to become our artists. Modern art is a disaster area - never in the field of human history has so much been used by so many to say so little." - Banksy
