Sweeney Todd = A+
Dec. 21st, 2007 01:28 amSaw Sweeney Todd on Tuesday night and it was fucking brilliant.
I realize a lot of people like Sleepy Hollow, but I found it "eh". This adaptation of Sweeney Todd is far better in my book. The lighting, the cinematography, the costumes of course, the use of blood that looks like shockingly red paint instead of the more realistic versions. Is muy awesome. Also, never having read or seen Sweeney Todd, nor am I a fan of musicals, I was rather pleased with the humor, the cleverness, the songs. The casting was excellent and Depp's singing was not stage-ready of course, but it worked well.
