You remember me going off on Spookyland when I kept trying and trying to start a discussion about the Canadian Federal election and the threads always died?
And it took me freaking out and being upset for someone to finally admit that the reason no one was talkng about it was because you guys knew nothing at all about it.
That was our Federal election. That was the election held to vote for the Prime Minister of our country. That should have been BIG news.
So if you guys don't hear about the biggest events in our country whats to make me think you'd hear about smaller issues?
I'm not saying your not interested. Because obviously you are! :) But it's hard to talk about stuff when people know nothing.
I'm not blaming you at all. So many people said yesterday that Canada is just not talked about or taught about.
You ever have a conversations with someone you know is smart but doesn't know a thing about what you want to talk to about? Most times you end up not talking about whatever it is simply because you don't want to go through the hassle of explaining all the back history before you can get to what you REALLY want to talk about.
And I'm sorry. I shouldn't do that. It's insulting to you. And does nothing to help the ingrained sterotype of "stupid arrogant american" that Canadians are brought up on, and that some of us struggle against. And I will stop it.
