Things would be so much easier if the KU School of Fine Arts website didn't blow hairy spider anus.

Speaking of Spiders...Finished most of Transmetropolitan and it's FAN-fucking-TASTIC. Ian bought me a short collection of Transmet stories last night. :D I'm reading graphic novels like they're going out of style. Scott Morse is amazing. So is Terry Moore. I realize this is not news. The Hellboy movie made me sad. So sad that I fell asleep during it. Probably seeing The Village today. M. Night SHAMA-LAMA-DING-DONG in the hizzy. Reading Strangers in Paradise now and Natalie Goldberg's Writing Down The Bones.

Weenies.

AAAH! I knew I forgot something! It's an evolving list (evolving because I'm forgetful).
I will rectify this.

Good books now available in paperback or at your local library:

"Vernon God Little" by DBC Pierre
"What Was She Thinking? (Notes on a Scandal)" by Zoe Heller

I also finished reading "The Cheese Monkeys" last week. I need to discuss it with someone. Call me. (Or if you are online during the day....AIM: sarabera976)

Oh, and if you haven't yet, read David Sedaris' new book. It's good, although a bit more melancholy than his last.

STOP in the name of talent!!!

If you haven't done it yet, please don't read Writing Down the Bones. Goldberg's prattle and sanctimonious whooha is so useless it will actually diminish your ability to write prose for three to six months.

Just a little public service announcement from your evil uncle.

I remember some exercises we did in a high school creative writing class (taken from the book) and so far, it's been a good means of lighting a fire under my ass. We'll see how I feel about it when I'm through.

Man, thank you for reminding me. I'm at the library now! :)

And I've been dying to read Sedaris' new book for months. Damn hardback prices.

What did you think of The Cheese Monkeys? I'm still not sure about it. I think the problem, is that I read a very similar book at the same time, and now I can't tell the difference.
