But then again, most things do.

I hate Dreamweaver 8 even more than Dreamweaver in general. So since I'm a gimp, I'm going to show you these this way:
Paintings I've been working on...not including the massive canvas that I will only show when it's done.

portrait assignment (classmate).
we were supposed to use patches of color, very little blending.
not my best work, but a good exercise by far. i tend to lean too much on the fan brush.
prof. likes it, so it's a-ok with me.

And the other assignment was to paint 15 small paintings of the same thing. I chose my LJ icons. Because a) that's nerdy and b) I like taking digital images back into wet pigment. they were supposed to be quick exercises. I am by no means, quick so they're somewhere in-between.
25 of these will be used for a scholarship show.

The beginnings of the series...digital-to-oil
There will be 7 total, in various sizes.
Same painting, two shots.

Six Feet1
Six Feet2

And finally.....

home away from home...except you can't see my awesome couch.

Oh wow. I can't imagine an assignment doing the same thing over and again. At least you chose a lovely and interesting subject for your 'same thing' paintings. ;) Indeed the digital to analogue idea is amazing. Like animation storyboarding in reverse (and is that 'Six Feet' as in Six Feet Under? I loved that show.) And glimpses into the artist's workspace are always fascinating to me. Thank you.

These are very very good but I must say that 6 feet blows the rest out of the water, even if some of those icon images are really well developed.
Very fucking cool.

yeah, and it's the second time I've had that assignment. last time I painted my feet.
Yes! I was watching the show and I loved that composition. I've collected others. Some images that are 4 years old, some that I noticed recently (one from a video, one from Me And You And Everyone We Know). They all have the same feel. one shall be gi-normous and I am scared of that one.

I get to that point sometimes. Fear not. If something is crap I will tell you so keep posting.
I am the beginning and end of all worthy opinions.

Will it go something like this?
