I recently came all over the Nikon D80. It is inexpensive and has a hell of a 10 megapixel sensor but it is more pro than user friendly and has no dust reduction. Look up the Pentax k10D and the Canon Eos RD XTI. Sonny just had a recall on its undershot series so I would not bet much on it. Oh and the Nikon D200 is apparently really good too but I know little about it.
I have been thinking of getting one of those as well. I'm old school and still shoot mostly Film and print it and tone it myself but it is getting increasingly expensive and most of my beloved films have been discontinued.
