I've abandonded them
Dec. 29th, 2001 10:22 amFinished reading Joyce Carol Oates' new book, Beasts last night. Realized once again that I'd forgotten about them, that I should find them again and learn more about them. I should work on it. I should finish.
I love you, rotten,
Delicious rottenness.
I love to suck you out from your skins
So brown and soft and coming suave,
So morbid...
Sorb-apples, medlars with dead crowns.
I say, wonderful are the hellish experiences,
Orphic, delicate
Dionysos of the Underworld.
A kiss, and a spasm of farewell, a moment's orgasm
of rupture,
Then along the damp road alone, till the next
turning.
And there, a new partner, a new parting...
A new intoxication of lonliness, among decaying,
frost-cold leaves.

11:01am: I haven't been hungry for days. I might be now, but I'm staying in my room for fear of waking the beast.
