IIIIIIIT'S GOOONNNA RAAAAAAAIN!

XD

Today has been spookified with the past. I went to my car and realized it was VERY cloudy out, so I ran back inside to get my October Project CD (always a cloudy, Cemetery Day CD) and Disintigration (duh, Cure). Then, when I was driving down Ventura, after picking up some...THINGS...I think I saw James standing outside of this salon that a mutual friend of ours used to work at. (James is the "orgy boy"...no, not the band) Anyway, that gave me bad shivers because I did a double-take and I think he saw me. Bleh.

So now I'm at work...it's intensely quiet.

Tonight I make gifts for...some people. ;)

Oh, and I got my Federal tax refund. Now I get to experience pain through dentistry. Sweet

I know. :(
It's not even the needles and the pain though...I just don't want to feel teeth being pulled from their sockets. It's not right.

*sob* I have so much lined up too. First is the wisdom teeth, which I have to find someone to drive me there and drive me home. I started to get teary-eyed when I was in the surgical consultation. eeeeeeeeeep. :(

If your wisdom teeth aren't impacted or otherwise fucked up in any way - if you're just having them yanked because it's better now than later - this should be a piece of cake. Promise.

The worst part is hearing (yes, hearing) the tooth pull away at the root, but it's just a little shivery and creepy - not painful. And I'm only warning you about it because I wish someone had warned me - I can still hear that sound echoing in my head.

At any rate, unless you've got some funky shit going on up in there, you should be absolutely fine.

They're all impacted...which should be fun. And yes, that's EXACTLY what scares me the most...the sound and the actual feeling of something being ripped from your head...not the pain.

But it has to be done...so.... -_-

Thank you though, pretty lady. :}

Random thought:
I want to take you and Dax to a cemetery in my hometown. It's the same one that I had some of my senior pics taken at. Some marvelous photos could be taken there. That...and St. Louis Cemetery #1(I think it was #1) in New Orleans

Ouch. Well, I'm SO glad I could offer my words of comfort, then. :/

Okay, new approach:

This, too, shall pass.

:)

(I am going to make you feel better about this if I have to pull out every stupid cliche ever invented, dammit.)

Girl, I can't go anywhere NEAR a dentist without first taking a couple of anti-anxiety pills. (see: Xanax.) After that, if there are ANY procedures to be handled, they not my ass out cold or it's NO GO. I'm serious. If there are teeth to be pulled, I get general anesthetic or I do NOT do it.

*steals some Xanax*

I will be KNOCKED OUT. I don't want to feel a thing. I don't care if I wake up and my clothes are on backwards. SO BE IT. Heh, I doubt that though. ;D

eep.

WHY must we go through all of this stupid, piddly, painful maintenence? Evolve! dammit.

hmmm....no, I don't think so. I'd be too scared of OVER-medicating. Just my luck I'd go into a coma and die from getting my teeth out.

Who knows though...I might change my mind as the appointment draws nigh.

Thank you kind lady. :)

Which October Project CD do you have? The self-titled or "Falling Farther In?" I have both, so I can burn whichever one you don't have for you. :)

I have both! :D

But the self-titled is by far, my favorite. I should listen to Falling Farther In though. It's been awhile.

Thank you though Nejarooni. :)

I loathe the dentists!

When I had to have my left wisdom tooth removed, I got a local anesthetic. Yes, I am one of those whack jobs that likes to be awake when someone is performing a mild surgical procedure on me. Just in case I hear, "Uh oh" I can extend my foot to meet Mr. Groin. You get the picture.

Well, the roots to that particular tooth was growing down and starting to wrap around the bottom of my jaw bone! He had to yank on it for 15 minutes to get it to wiggle out. *ouchy*

After the ordeal, he gave me another shot of Novocain and a pain killer prescription. My cheek swelled up like a puffer fish the next day. I honestly looked like someone took a tire iron to the side of my face.

To quote, 'A Christmas Story', not verbatim; I wove a tapestry of obscenities, that I think, is lingering somewhere over Lake Michigan. UGH!

Okay, how 'bout this?

When I got my two wisdom teeth pulled last year, it took about two minutes, my face didn't swell, I didn't even need the painkillers, and since I already had the taken the entire day off [my app't was at 8 am], I spent the afternoon shopping and drinking smoothies.

Well, hopefully you are not built like a mutant, like me, and won't have to go thru all that. My right side slid right out. I had no pain on that end. Hooray!

Do you want me to come there and hold your hand during your visit? I will make it a point.

p.s. Since I am a sick fuck- I requested to listen to, 'A Clockwork Orange' soundtrack when all this was happening. My best friend was in the waiting room and I could hear her yelling, "YOU SICK BASTARD", while the noise of the drill echoed down the hall.

If you're talking about the scene with Beethoven's 9th, that is all too appropriate. (Frankly, I think the dentist is more much painful.)

October Project is such a great band...I was sad when they split up. Thankfully they reformed with a slightly modified line-up as November Project. Eventually they might even have an album ready.

Which album are you listening to today?

REALLY?!

From: [identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com
I did not know that...hmmmm.
*sigh* I have one of those "signed" Happy Holidays postcard-pictures of them on my cubicle wall right now. From when I was on their mailing list back in "tha day".

self-titled album. It's the one with the most memories. :)

They have a website for November Project which I haven't visited for some time. They were trying to independently produce a new album because of the troubles they had with their old label.

what are you getting done after the wisdom teefs?

From: [identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com
Indeed.

A few cavaties, I need a night-guard for grinding my teeth at night (which I think will stop once these puppies are out), and I'm bonding all of the front teeth. I think there was something else, but I want all of this shiz taken care of. Stupid body maintenence pisses me off. :)

I had to get all four of mine out a few years ago. NOT fun. A pre-procedure test showed I was allergic to whatever the oral surgeon intended to use to knock me out. As a result, I got to go with the local and laughing gas combination.

I'd had fillings before; so I wasn't too worried about the novacain injections. I should have been. See, no one mentioned that, in addition to the traditional shots in the back of the jaw, Herr Doktor would also be giving me injections IN THE ROOF OF THE MOUTH. When you're not expecting that level of Spanish Inquisition style pain, it makes the Marquis de Sade seem like the damn Candyman. I started to come out of the chair swinging. The nurse caught my arm as the doctor backed off saying, "Calm down. Calm down." I responded with, "I'll show you calm, you son of a bitch. Get over here!!!"

Well, obviously, I did calm down, and it wasn't too bad; except for the sawing and the fact that when he took out the bottom left tooth I opened my eyes and saw that the root wound all the way down to my incisor. It was more than 4 inches long, and I got to see that COME OUT OF MY MOUTH.

I was laid up for a couple of days and had fairly significant bruising, but I haven't suffered any long term effects, other than the fact that I'm terminally paranoid about anything sharper than a potato chip touching the roof of my mouth.

Viya con dios. It'll suck, but hopefully not too badly.

Blu, meet m_fallenangel
