aym gonna ook

I just gave blood. I've never given blood before. I feel drunk and hungover at the same time.
Man, I never faint, but I had to sit there and will my eyes open and a lid on my stomach. I so felt like I was going to throw up and I was sweaty and overheating, it was nice. They had to recline me and give me cold compresses. NOT FUN. But I'm so generous, I'd probably do it again. The world should love me.

Crikey, I still feel overheated and ooky.

Guess I should get more sleep and actually eat something before doing that, huh?

AND I got a nifty t-shirt that says USC Blood Drive and has the words "Got Blood?" on the back. How fucking gawthy is that?! ;) Oh, and a coupon for a free pint of ice cream from Baskin Robbins and a free coffee and donut from Krispy Kreme. (like I need that) But the ice cream just might be my dinner. ;)

Just in case any of you are wondering, and I know you are:

Temp: 97.3
Pulse: 80
Blood Pressure: 110/80
HCT: 43 (what is this?)

*faints*

yay for you!
hct is hematocrit, the percentage of RBC's in your blood. it's right where it should be.

Mine was around 70 in h.s., and when I went to the doctor last year it was 76. I was concerned, but not enough to do anything about it like exercise or nothin'.

yo!

I have a "got blood?" shirt too! I think I used it to clean a pallette though. I didn't get no free ice cream :(

I donated blood in a big bus!

I used to make fun of my brother for fainting when he got some kind of shot, but the first time I donated blood I felt a lot like what you've described. You probably thought I would end this with "and i never made fun of him again," but I actually now say "at least I didn't faint, muthafucka!"

I used to TRY and make myself faint

GRRRRRRAH! I LOVE YOU!

;)

Mine was a swank-ass van thingy. :)
I'm going to get Jamoca Almond Fudge. IT'S THE BEST.

Yay for you!

Everyone should be forced to donate blood. It's so important and doesn't take much time. I know people don't like needles, but get over it! You could be saving someone's life! Sorry you feel bad though, that sucks to have such a reaction, it makes you not want to do it again (don't let it though!)

What's your blood type? I'm AB+ so I used to get called all the time to donate (I can't anymore due to the medication I take). I never got a shirt though, I feel cheated! I got a nifty MINT GREEN mug and some hard cookies though. Yay, that's comparable. *insert sarcasm here*
