HAHA! I'm wearing my Powerpuff Girl night shirt with no panties. Does that count as wearing nothing?
Honestly, are you REALLY considering the Kansas lifestyle again? Heh. What am I talking about? I found myself looking for jobs online last week for the Chicago market.
If the school thang doesn't pick up this fall; I have to get the FOOK out of here. This place is killing me, dude.
I'll ALWAYS be a Midwest baby. Besides, there are HOT men closer to the Great Lakes. I wonder why that is? Are they thirty?
I said it before, I'll say it again: Portland's cool. And I can, like, SEE you there. I think you'd dig it, and it would dig you. Cost of living seems reasonable - and hey, no sales tax :) When I was looking for apts. there I thought the rent quite reasonable - of course, this was compared to Santa Cruz CA rent, which was reedeeculous. US$550 a month for my teensy studio, no pets, and I was one of the fortunate ones. And last I was in Portland I saw a lot of apartment complexes in my Mom's neighborhood were leasing, so that probably means prices are low still - if there's los of vacancy, it becomes a renter's market. And the Hawthorne St. neighborhood fucking rocks! I love it there, it has everything - a hair salon, lots of cute neat junk stores, antique stores, greengrocer, butcher, big evil grocery store, movie theater, good record stores, and a Buffalo Exchange to boot :) And the good ol' mother nature in all her unadorned splendour is just a short drive away - like Sauvie Island. Wow, it's gorgeous. And on a clear day you can see Mt. Hood, it's glorious. And Portland has Wildwood! Great damn restaurant. Also Colosso, a great little tapas bar.
As long as you can deal with rain for a stretch and then nice weather later, Portland is great.
Move to Portland if you gotta move, cuz then when I went to visit my mum I could at least still see you :)
Doode, maybe we should all shut up now and quit asking, Why would you move, DON'T GO!, if you move, move here, Jill Jill Jill we don't wanna let you make your own decision! Do what WE want you to! Sheyit. Sorry girl, that isn't the intention. We'd just miss you so far away in Oz.
But I shut up now. I just thought I'd sing the praises of Portland once more.
yeah, let's all head back to the midwest. wow. i feel all happy in this conversation. most people make fun of me for yearning for the midwest again. but but .. it's just who i am, y'know?
hahahaha!! milli vanilla slam dance. cute! y'know, i've never been to chicago. always wanted to go though. i think i've got a friend there now. not sure.
Honestly, sunny days depress the hell out of me more then the overcasted/rainy/poopy days. I say, "bring me death!" I feel better in Fall and Spring weather that the lovely Midwest has to offer. Golly, my ass crack sweats here in the desert- that's unnatural!
We were mighty close to going to the HOB show in Anaheim, but we flaked out. I'll ask my sister-soon-to-be-in-law if she took any pictures.
Oh, and the Schmoo (http://www.schmoo.org/schmoo6.gif) is one of my favorite cartoons EVER. Figures you'd know the Schmoo. You even spelled it right. :)
I love that word (and the little guy). When I was a kid, I would watch The Incredible New Schmoo every Saturday morning. I think it was on the same program with Jeannie (as in I Dream of) and her clumsy sidekick, Baboo.

Hmm, Schmoo? Isn't that the stuff you put between two graham crackers and a piece of chocolate?

You honk when you laugh? Maybe you should see a doctor (or a bicycle repair shop).
