mental

Oh man, this is going to give you a good idea of how nutso I can be.

The word "silly". I recently discovered I don't like it. I'm wondering why. To me, it just seems dismissive or condescending. Maybe I'm relating it to something specific or someone...I have no idea. If you've said this word to me recently, I apologize...I'm not trying to single anyone out and this isn't about you. I just noticed it because it's been said a lot lately.

Hmmm...could be because the only time I can really relate hearing it is when I was trying to be serious, or trying to get a point across and the other person says something like, "ohhh, you're just being silly."

Carry on...my wayward son...

I like the way your little penguin dances to the cool sounds of Kansas and flaps his wings like a madman next to that evil word besides him.

It would be cool if he had a wet noodle to slap "silly" upside the head with though. :)

I totally agree -- it can be a really dismissive word. "You're just being silly," can crumple up an entire day on me. Sucks.

I find it endearing in the right moments, though -- for example, I say, "Silly boy," or "Silly girl," when other people might say, "Oh, you goof!" in a teasing-fond way.

I've taken to saying "ooktarded" lately, after a certain someone (http://www.livejournal.com/~motherevol). Heh.

ah hahahahhaahahahhhaa ::collapses::

billy greer is the stepdad of one of the kids who goes to my high school.

during the variety show EVERY YEAR, this kid has his dad come one night and perform. and NOBODY COULD CARE LESS. but we can't tell him that his dad *can't* perform.

greer always gets on stage and acts like a big shot celebrity who's rubbing elbows with some hicks. it's hilarious. oh man.

I STAGE MANAGE FOR KANSAS. sort of.
