This is just where I plead not guilty and get a court appointed lawyer though, right? The really nervous-making one is further down the line. :(

I pleaded no contest when I went to court, for the simple fact that I couldn't say "not guilty" since I indeed was. Admitting to the courts that I was guilty would have only made my fines/probation/restrictions far worse in the end. It was a double edge sword basically. I figured, no contest was my safest bet.

You may want to look into that before you say, "not guilty". Just another suggestion kitty.
