i was meaning to ask you about the live shots.
got any hints? live photography at shows and stuff is one thing i haven't done and there is a show later this month i agreed to shoot.
i'm a nervous wreck, soooo...

you? ask me? Nooooo...you are too good to ask me. That, and I don't really have a technique and I feel like I'm cheating with the digital. It allows me to snap, snap, snap without worrying about film. That's generally what I do. I think I took about 150 shots that night then sat there and deleted the not-so-good pics. With live shows, the only thing I can say is, just keep shooting, you never know when that moment will come and it's often too late to get it if you're just waiting for it. But you know this I'm sure.
I didn't really write about this after I did it, but I was in a complete zone. I feel bad because I didn't even really HEAR them playing, all I could think of was getting those shots. I just moved around the stage a lot, ignored everyone looking at me, and focused. Just stay focused and you'll be fine. I've seen some of your work schmoo, and you'll be more than fine.

i would feel like i'm cheating too but in the situation of a live performance, it would help, y'know? aaaarg. me scared one kind. *sniff*

ah well. i guess i'll just try my best and try to remember everything i was taught in my courses. not like i remember much ... usually my professor was yakking about how he played with liquid mercury as a kid. *laugh* it explained a lot...

DOY! As if they wouldn't use them. You're too fucking good at this stuff to not be making money doing it, by the way. I've seen A LOT of photos of bands, Jill, A LOT of them... and this stuff is the stuff dreams are made of. Although I had a really crappy chance at shooting these guys, (all bad angles, shitty lighting, etc.) and the circumstances made it pretty impossible for me to give it another go, your work blows mine to smithereens (which isn't hard to do, heh). Anyway, PLEASE pursue this. I implore you. If you need help getting gigs to cover, don't hesitate to call me.

You know...I secretly want to really persue this. I don't talk about how I feel about certain things often. I do tend to pick and choose what I let out, but I do want to start doing this in a semi-professional manner. Thing is, I am in such time contraints and might be without proper transportation for few months that I might have to put it off. This angers me.

The goal is to put up a site and get it properly set up for getting some jobs. Now I just need to find time to get all of this done, especially with my gimpy HTML/design skillz. I'd ask for help, but I'm a stubborn little brat and I like to do things myself.
So yeah, count on me taking you up on that offer. When, I don't know.

I'm sorry about not being able to see you for so long. As soon as I have a set schedule among this chaos, I will find time for us to have coffee or something. I still need to get you that Eddie tape. :
