stupid white men
Aug. 1st, 2002 01:23 pmU.S. LOOKS TO IMPROVE IMAGE ABROAD
WASHINGTON (AP)--The White House is raising the profile of a little-known office meant to polish America's image abroad and rebuild ties with allies alienated by Bush administration policies. The Office of Global Communications has existed for months, quietly working with foreign news media outlets to get the American message out. The office was an outgrowth of an earlier administration effort to build public support overseas for the war on terrorism. But a series of administration decisions before and after the Sept. 11 attacks brought increasingly sharp criticism, even from some allies, spurring the administration to give new emphasis to the office.

They are all shit. If anything you must vote Green to put a wedge between the two. The two party system is killing this country.
Nadar would have made a horrible president. He's a better activist than politician. So many lefties were afraid to admit this. Its takes a spine to be president. The establishment will not bend for an outsider. Jimmy Carter learned this lesson best and is why he was a one-term president and generally regarded as a failure even though he was probably the brightest mind to hold that office the last century.
He got elected and surrounded himself with his good ole GA Crackers....which is good on one hand, but the establishment in Washington, the Pentagon, Congress etc, was having none of it. They resented that. And he had his hands tied for most of his presidency.
Nadar would have been a miserable failure as a president. He's much more effective as a voice screaming outside the door, never to get in. Once in, he'll be suffocated.
As far as the new image of America abroad and "arrogant stupid white men"...the woman heading up the agency (i forget the name of the agency, newly created after 9/11) for America's image is an "arrogant, smart white lady" who used to do major advertising campaigns...one of the biggest being Oscar Meyer weiners. HA! Funny....she sold weiners to America. She came up with the campaign "My boloney has a first name....".
Trafficant is a joke, always has been and always will be. He's barely a blip on the radar screen.
wow, you're such a rebel thinker

Re: wow, you're such a rebel thinker
Date: 2002-08-05 08:34 am (UTC)"You remind me of any college freshman poli sci major."
what exactly does that mean? can you thread that out a little more? In my experience, poli sci 101 speak tends to be a little more blindly liberal, automatic. yellow-dog democrat, anti-right automatic pro-left without realizing how much hot air the left can have.
bandwagon hipster for NadER without really thinking it through. Have you ever read any of his books? Have you ever read any of Gore's doublspeak?
Coincidentally I find your comments on my comments childish and unthoughtful, much like you are implying mine are by saying they are freshman. A generalization of my opinion and a nit pick of my spelling doesnt exactly make for a fun chat now do they?

It smacked of something a fresh little poli sci major would say. Something textbook. For such a "forward thinker" you seem to rely on sources which hold no water with me. That's what I meant.
You're quite arrogant and matter-of-fact, and I can be that way as well. However, I try and act like my opinions aren't fact nor common knowledge.
I give two fucks how you find my comments. COINCIDENTALLY, proper spelling can make all the difference between looking like a dumbass and looking like an intelligent individual. Bad spellers like to try and throw that "nitpick" thing around quite a bit. But there is help (http://www.m-w.com).
p.s. Don't get your panties in a bunch. A friendly "debate" is quite amusing to me. I hope you're not getting pissy

I am arrogant. I do have high standards. I love hanving my mind changed.
In otherwords challenge me.
I graduated from the ee cummings school of
grammar and spelling. I don't believe mispelling a proper name implys anything other than mispelling a proper name.
As far as sounding text book. I havent picked up a text book in 4+ years.
Most of what I say is derived from observation.
Im an avid news paper reader...I read everything from the conservative Washington Post, to the liberal LA Times or NY Times almost daily including every LA weekly paper like the New Times and the Weekly and sometimes ther Village Voice.
So...pardon me madame for sounding text book. i can assure its not a text book drawn opinion.
