Hee. Actually, I live and work close to BH, so....nevermind. ;)
Okay, so I was on my break from work in the drive-thru at Del Taco when I felt something coming, then.....BAM! The window next to my car shook like nobody's business then I felt the car teetertottering under me. Hoooooboy. I loves me some earthquakes. Actually, I do, kinda.
They terrify me, but I want another...and then when it happens I'm stuck somewhere between extreme fright and gimme some more. It's like a reeeally good roller-coaster that could kill you, or at the least, put you in a really bad spot with no place to live and no belongings. I couldn't sleep for a long time after the one a couple years ago. That one was a 7.9, but it was centered in Joshua Tree/29 Palms(far away). This one was MUCH closer and a 4.2. So, after this one, and the 2 little aftershocks, I looked around and no one seemed shocked or even interrupted. So when I got up to the window, I asked Mr. Del Taco Drive-thru Boy and he looked at me all funny. Then I thought I had just snapped. But shooo-nuff, when I got back to work there were pornos all over the floor and a ceiling tile down in the kitchen. Wha-chow.
Whoo. Adrenaline.
It's funny that it was centered in Beverly Hills. I was going to write today about how the roomie and I were turned down for an apartment for being such pale crackas. We said "eh, what the hell" and went to look at an apartment near downtown. We got there, she showed us the apartment, then when I asked for an application, she looked antsy and said that it had been rented....just now...to the guy downstairs. Yes, the guy who was FIXING THEIR DOOR. "Oh, okay, so the repair guy JUST rented the apartment?" Suuuuure. I'm not pissed, in fact I'm grateful for the feeling. It's not often that I get to be discrininated against because of my color and now I have a little taste of what a lot of people have to deal with on a daily basis. Turnabout is fair play.

I did stand on my head and in the middle of the living room and Staci ran around screaming "The badgers! The badgers!" but, who DOESN'T do that when looking at apartments? Sha!
Damn, now they're saying it was in West Hollywood. I liked it centered in Beverly Hills much more.
