[this space for rent]
Nov. 7th, 2001 10:54 pmDrove the CARPOOL downtown to the Board of Trustees meeting today. We had quite a few Greenpeace/Clean Air people there in our SAFETY orange shirts. We made a few comments and presented the signed student letters that we had thus far. It was a very BIG success. :D
Afterwards, we all walked down and had PIZZA. It was so nice to be involved with something and be getting things done. We sat there, ate, and made a song list of songs with "sunshine" or "power" in them so that the SOLAR TRUCK can play them during the press conference next week. I told Kate that I would definitely get up and speak at that meeting because I was ITCHING to do so at this one. We're looking into seeing if we can power the actual Board meeting with the truck. THAT, would be very cool.
Besides the high of the meeting going well and actually getting off my DUFF to help, it was so nice to be downtown. I had forgotten how at home I felt in New York. I know I will live there someday, but I promised myself that I would not be POOR in NYC. I need to visit soon at least. Being in DOWNTOWN L.A., though not as wonderful as NYC, was so nice. I did not want to leave. I miss cities that have the intelligence to build up, not out. I think the L.A. city planners dropped ACID before every meeting.
Oy, I NEED to study/do homework.
Ah, and I got an EMAIL(why the DSL is working right now, I DO NOT know.) from someone at Mr. Izzard's management company: "Thank you for your message to Eddie Izzard which has been forwarded to him." Even if it hasn't, it's still NICE to get a response. :) Before anyone thinks I've become a full-fledged, card-carrying stalker...no, I just wrote a thank you for his graciousness and I thanked him for renewing my INTEREST in Chaplin. I was actually very moved at seeing "The Gold Rush" on the big screen in that wonderful theatre.
Wow, this entry is really BORING. Maybe I should capitalize random words....hmmmm.......
