a-durr, a-durr
Dec. 11th, 2002 11:03 amApparently I was pretty tired because I didn't get up on time again today, and I had dreams all night. Deep sleeeeeep, need more.
I remember a vivid dream of tornados. There was more to the dream, but in my waking haze, I only reached out to remember the "action sequence". I was at home, at my parents, but they weren't there. Other people were there, but I don't remember who they were. I remember lots of animals though, various cats and dogs...others? I remember looking outside after hearing reports of funnel clouds in the area. I was doubtful, but then I saw a navy-sapphire(?) sky outside and a tornado forming just a few miles away, only it was forming with lightning and wind (I think my sleep-addled brain has forgotten how a tornado really works). I yelled for everyone to go to the basement immediately, which was only a few feet away (side note: My Dad built our basement, as well as the utility room, family room, and back porch...I think that's pretty neat). I struggled to gather all the animals and all the while, I kept thinking "Where's Boo? Where's Boo?" I was still finding strays here and there, more running up onto the porch and me ushering them downstairs when I heard the characteristic train noise of an approaching tornado (no, I've never been in one, but that's what they sound like). All I could think of is "Where is my cat?" I was fighting against the wind to get other animals down in the basement and I remember windows being sucked out and holding on to walls. I think that's when I woke up.
Odd.
Tonight at work, a bunch of us are decorating the tree and being generally "festive". I suppose I'll help, drink some (non-alcoholic) Egg Nog maybe, lay under the tree for a little while (for nostalgic purposes) and then go home.
