So I was waiting for the bus about 30 minutes ago when I realized...hey, I have clothes with me, I have some necessities at work, what the hell am I doing spending an hour and a half to make it home, just so Sara can drive to the Valley tomorrow and bring me back to work. So, I came back. And now I'm going to work (because that's another reason I came back...I need to have some work done to show for today) for the next hour and a half until my baby comes back online at the appointed time (when I was supposed to be home). At least now I will only miss half a day of work.

And dood....Omygod...have you SEEN this?! Not the article...the trailer.
Dear sweet jebus. I mean, I wasn't as jazzed about the first one as some people, but The Two Towers makes me want to change my panties. *drool*

And now I leave you with...
This is beyond funny. It's even more than Teh Funny. (requires sound)

Ooh, that's a trailer I haven't seen yet. Lots of scruffy Aragorn shots in that one. Mmm, Aragorn.

Too much Arwen again, though. Pfah.

Did you notice that The Two Towers seems to be using Kronos Quartet (or at least their tunes) in the trailer? It was the Requiem for a Dream theme. Awesome.

Heh. Music NOT by John Williams. WOOHOO!

Liv Tyler makes a lovely Arwen, but...that's not the point. She's barely in the books at all, until the appendices. I shall be surly if they steal any of Eowyn's screentime for more Princess Bride shots of Aragorn and Arwen.

(I might forgive them if it was a sex scene, though. *stares at the sky* )

This is the greatest trailer that ever was.

She's in the god damn TRAILER longer than all three books put together!

If they're going to fuss with the character's roles, I wish they would just kill Arwen.

Eowyn is hotter than Arwen anyway.

...did i just say that?

A couple of things here:

One, Tolken can suck my left one. I never saw the first installment of LOTR because I didn't think I would be able to sit through three hours of Tolken pissing on my head. I can only pray to the gods that the movie(s) do a better job interpreting his stories then he does. I cannot read him without wanting to pull out my hair. Seriously.

Two, I rented and watched, The Count of Monte Cristo yesterday. Actually, it was not a bad abdication of the book. Yeah, they changed the ending, but they did an amazing job keeping with the general story line. I wasn't disappointed (I know this is one of your personal favorites).

Third, Jhonen Vasquez is going to be here in the valley on Halloween. Yes, I am happier then a fart in a mitten. I'm going to party like it's 1999. Woo-hoo!

Fourth, that is all, m'lady. *curtseys*

If you do end up trying to read the books, it'd be curious to hear about. I wonder what the experience would be like, with the movie being your first experience with the story.

The only person I know who saw Fellowship of the Ring first, then picked up the books...put down the books after about two weeks. I guess Tolkien isn't for everyone. (I say it that way not to sound snobby, but because Lord of the Rings is buried back in my lizard-brain, next to my breathing reflex. I can't comprehend people haven't read it and/or don't adore it.)

Good luck, if you give the books a try. :)

Ha! Damn, it would be nice if I could spell TolkIen now, huh?

Mr. Man is going to be doing a party for adults at Atomic Comics here in the valley. If I have to walk there to hang, I will. Maybe, I will be able to meet some cool people finally. *crosses fingers*

I saw the animated version of The Hobbit when I was in grade school, but yeah, that was my only Tolkien experience. (why does it smell like cedar chips in here? Anyway...) I even have it still, in film strip form. I'm going to sell it on Ebay when I can figure out how much it's worth.

I know I will probably love the books. I'm in Bradbury mode right now though. Maybe I'll start The Hobbit after October. :D
