So I was waiting for the bus about 30 minutes ago when I realized...hey, I have clothes with me, I have some necessities at work, what the hell am I doing spending an hour and a half to make it home, just so Sara can drive to the Valley tomorrow and bring me back to work. So, I came back. And now I'm going to work (because that's another reason I came back...I need to have some work done to show for today) for the next hour and a half until my baby comes back online at the appointed time (when I was supposed to be home). At least now I will only miss half a day of work.

And dood....Omygod...have you SEEN this?! Not the article...the trailer.
Dear sweet jebus. I mean, I wasn't as jazzed about the first one as some people, but The Two Towers makes me want to change my panties. *drool*

And now I leave you with...
This is beyond funny. It's even more than Teh Funny. (requires sound)

Liv Tyler makes a lovely Arwen, but...that's not the point. She's barely in the books at all, until the appendices. I shall be surly if they steal any of Eowyn's screentime for more Princess Bride shots of Aragorn and Arwen.

(I might forgive them if it was a sex scene, though. *stares at the sky* )

She's in the god damn TRAILER longer than all three books put together!

If they're going to fuss with the character's roles, I wish they would just kill Arwen.

Eowyn is hotter than Arwen anyway.

...did i just say that?

I can't tell if she's hotter or not, 'cause she's /barely in the goddamn trailer at all/. ;P~~~

If you do end up trying to read the books, it'd be curious to hear about. I wonder what the experience would be like, with the movie being your first experience with the story.

The only person I know who saw Fellowship of the Ring first, then picked up the books...put down the books after about two weeks. I guess Tolkien isn't for everyone. (I say it that way not to sound snobby, but because Lord of the Rings is buried back in my lizard-brain, next to my breathing reflex. I can't comprehend people haven't read it and/or don't adore it.)

Good luck, if you give the books a try. :)

I saw the animated version of The Hobbit when I was in grade school, but yeah, that was my only Tolkien experience. (why does it smell like cedar chips in here? Anyway...) I even have it still, in film strip form. I'm going to sell it on Ebay when I can figure out how much it's worth.

I know I will probably love the books. I'm in Bradbury mode right now though. Maybe I'll start The Hobbit after October. :D
