Well, other than being a palindrome, a nun is also cool because she can fly, never experiences an uncomfortable silence, can look mysterious in black without being trendy, and is smart enough to escape from "the bullshit."

Actually, I think it's because I read Madeline L'Engle's The Love Letters when I was younger. Maybe. Maybe I associate them with penguins. And I do love penguins.
