remember the good old days?
Dec. 21st, 2002 07:54 pmMy Day
by the Jillinator(as I was called today at work (the bookstore))
Where do I begin?
AH, how about the fact that I have the worst fucking car karma on this goddamned forsaken ball of dirt and rot? Yes, that's a good start. About an hour ago, as I was driving home from work, after just leaving my parking spot, after just walking 3 blocks in the rain with heavy books, and after a busy, retail work day, I was rear-ended! "For fucks sake!", you might say. Yes, INDEED! For Fuck's Sake. If you know me, you know how many times I get hit by people. I haven't been in an accident that was my fault in YEARS. Perhaps it is because my current automobile and my past automobile were the same light blue/silver color? OR PERHAPS IT IS BECAUSE NO ONE CAN DRIVE IN THIS FUCKING CITY. And when it's RAINING? Fuhgetaboutit. Also...
Message to all Angelenos or just plain bad drivers out there:
IF THE SKY IS FALLING, A.K.A. I'TS RAINING, DO NOT UNNECESSARILY SLAM ON YOUR BRAKES. DUMB. ASS.
*ahem*
BARRING that bit of unpleasantness, which I'm more upset about the fact that it almost entirely took off my "If You Can Read This You're Not The President" bumper sticker than the minimal damage it did and the fact that I'll have to deal with insurance on Monday. His car was fucked. HA. Serves him right, asshole. I'm going to chalk that up to the fact that my car is a Ford behemoth of an automobile and his was a shitty little Honda Civic.
[this is where some personal stuff that has been bothering me was going to go, but then I realized there are people on my friends list who are "involved" and rather than deal with the high schoolian drama, I'm going to keep my feelings to myself or vent in private. A-thanka you.]
And now...random.
I met John Lithgow today. I now have a signed copy of this. Which is cool, only because I actually like this children's book a lot. I like a lot of children's books. I have too many, I think. NO! Never. Anyway, so that was cool. And I made Emily laugh a lot today. Especially with today's "word for the day": "a-durrrr"
Many people like my plaid shoes.
Many people complimented my hair today. I dyed it. It's an indescribable color. I can't do any "odd" colors because of the retail gig, so I decided I'll just do all the normal colors I can, I suppose. It looks okay, I guess. I don't really like it. It's soft though. AH WELL.
I inadvertently scheduled myself to work both jobs tomorrow. Because I RULE. So now I'm working a half day at one and a full day at the other. I still want to go dancing though. So whoever said they were up for it, let me know. Jen, you can stay here if you want. Staci is gone.
Annnnd...segue...
Speaking of, this is how it should be. I should come home to either NO ONE (except a Satanic Boo-Cat) or someone I love. That is the way it should be. Not that I don't love Staci, but you know what I mean. This is nice. And she'll be gone until next Saturday. *le sigh*
I wish I didn't buy so many things for people. I can't help it. It's usually books. But when I see something I know someone will like, I like to get it for them. :/
I don't think I'm going to have enough money by the time I want to move home. This worries me and gives me stress.
I think I'm going to take my niece to New York for Spring Break this year. Probably March. Tickets are really cheap right now...not like I can buy them now anyway, but still. It's a nice thought.
'kay, I think that's it....FOR NOW.
dun Dun DUN!
