I think we had the same conversation here when the movie was over. Also, this "harvesting" they speak of, as in the human crop they wanted, aren't we simple "ugly bags of mostely water"? If water is acid to them, what do they want with us?
Silly premise. And I dislike the whole god thing too. Gotta give the kid a fatal disease, make sure the brother has no career in the big leagues, the daughter has schizaphrenic tendancies with water, AND kill the wife. All so they can beat the crap out of ONE alien, missing half it's fingers, that couldn't get out of a pantry?

Creepy yes, M. Night is good at setting a mood, but I'm not a big fan of his plots, or his acting abilities.
Fun indeed, but in that shiny hollywood kinda way.
