I was sitting on a bench on the Captial grounds for lunch, writing in my journal...because I'm that queer. And I learned this: It's hard to write about dirty stuff when an elderly person comes and sits near you.

I don't know about those silly folks who say they will be staying at the Hostel. I think that maybe they might not be able to get a room, or if they do, it'll be just approximately the same amount as if they just all got a hotel room and shared it. Plus, hostels have definite lights out times, and I think we're all pretty much a late night crowd.

I wanna see the picture of the squashed snake. I have a secret thing for roadkill. I once found a squashed jaguar on a highway in the middle of the Arizona desert, and it only increased my appetite for it.

Damn, I wish I had a camera when I saw that jaguar. That's the most freakish animal I've seen. I had no idea that they roam this far north, but have confirmed it since seeing the carcass. It was a young one, and almost entirely black.

Some of the coolest animals I've seen have been roadkill. It's this mix of excitement (to see the animal) and sadness (to see it dead).

So don't get sucked up by a tornado, Blu. We need you here on this side of the rainbow.

Exactly. I feel bad for being so fascinated by it, but it's part morbid fascination, part wanting to inspect the animal.

I'm not sure how I missed this post yesterday. I'm going and need to figure out what's going on with rooms and such rather quickly. I need to buy plane tickets. I've always flown to LA and hooked up with Loco. Not sure what to do right now.

Yeah, I plan on flying in a couple days before or after Con, to hang out with L.A. friends. I checked flights yesterday and they weren't that bad. I'd say just go ahead and get your ticket to LAX.
