blustockingI'm obsessing, wallowing, hating, and writing off.
Odd synchronicity today. I was sitting at the dining room table, flipping through the paper and came to the wedding announcements. I thought, "Heh, I could scan these and probably see someone from high school." And I did, and I did. I hope I go to the 10 year reunion and I'm the only unmarried person, with a wildly successful book published, and a hot man-boy on my arm. That way, I can burst through the doors, grab a drink, raise it and yell, "You're all DEAD to me!", grin, and exit, boy toy and drink in tow. Not really, but it would be funny. Anyway, the synchronicity...I was sitting there hating the newspaper for being so dull and for trying so hard to make this town be what it isn't, and I thought, "Hey, I'd like to go check out the bargain books at Barnes & Noble." Now, normally, I hate B & N. It comes from 6 years of working with the competition, that...and I would hate them anyway. It's a feeling, get over it. They suck. But their bargain books, they don't suck. (And when it comes to books in this town, it's that or Waldenbooks. And even though I worked there for 2 years, Walden's kinda blows the load too.) SO YES, I thought this. I went in to ask my Mom if she wanted to go and she said, "Only if we go to Hobby Lobby." My response, "Ugh. Fine." THEN THE PHONE RINGS AND DANA WANTS TO KNOW IF I WANT TO GO TO BARNES & NOBLE. Weird, yo.
Then we are at Barnes & Crapple and I went there with the odd idea of MAYBE, just MAYBE coming across some Thomas Lynch on the bargain shelves. LOW AND MOTHERFUCKING BEHOLD, there he was. Such oddness. And it's the exact book I'm reading. So I bought two. One to give to someone. I had someone specific in mind, but now I'm not sure. I should probably give it to someone who will appreciate it. Eh.
Anyway, bargain book loot:

And I had to restrain myself from so many others.
This, was a splurge. Though I tend not to look upon books and music as "splurging", but as necessities. Some creepy dood sidled up next to me on my intent search through Fiction and asked what I was getting. Rather than really responding, I just held up two books for him to see. He SLOWLY read the titles and authors and asked me what one was about. I said, "I don't know. I like the author." and slowly walked away. Creepy motherfuckers are the only people that get up the nerve to talk to me. And I say "get up the nerve" because apparently, I can be intimidating on occasion. Fuck off.

But yes, I wrote the motherfucking prologue to my motherfucking book today. So this stretch of daylight wasn't a complete waste of my fucking time.

I'm embarrassed somewhat now because apparently there is some "lizard revolution" when it comes to lizard tattoos, but I know, regardless of what others think, that I got mine for a reason - one other than to "be cool" (which I could never be - haha).
When you come visit me (*cough, cough*), I'll show you the American cover of the book...

Forgive my ignorance, but what would "co-op editing" entail?
