boo baby bee butt

Boo is sick.
This morning, I went to pet a sleeping Boo-kitty and he meowed (not a talky cat, I wondered what was up). He then kept meowing, as if in slight pain, and moved toward the door. I filled with worry and went to tell Ian. We watched his behavior for awhile. Then he began to drool...and not clear, watery drool, but more of a discolored gel. This scared me enough to call credit card companies to see if I could get a raise in my credit. I could not. I took him to the vet anyway. Ian came with and I'm glad he did. They did some blood work on poor Boo kitty and $160 later(luckily the card lets me go over my limit), I'm waiting for the results. I think it's a mouth/dental thing, which will cost about $480. If it's not that, it's something more along the lines of he ate something he shouldn't have, which is disturbing...as I have no idea what it could be. He seems to be sensitive about his mouth though, so I think it's the former. He also seemed to be nauseous, as his meowing would come in waves. This is EXACTLY what I did not need right now, but it has to be done. The poor baby is actually LETTING me take care of him. He had trouble eating his dry food, so I mixed tuna with some milk and mushed it up. He ate all of it and is now sleeping at home.
I write all of this out, because I worry.

After we got home, Ian went and looked for jobs.
It felt like our family was in trouble, so we came together. Even Jason, who took us out for lunch. Barring the worry and my poor baby feeling sick, it's been a good day of togetherness.

I need, that job.

Poor Boo! That kitty should be scratching the living hell out of everything that approaches him - not being all sickly! I hope he gets better soon :(

I don't know what I'd do if Cosette got sick. Probably huddle in a corner and cry. I'd be completely useless. My thoughts are with you. I hope Boo gets better quickly. *big hugs*

He won't eat solid foods right now, and it's a bitch trying to get him to eat anything else I can concoct (tuna and milk, pulvarized dry food with a little water, wet cat food) He shuns it all. He needs to go back to the vet, but the dental exam is very expensive. I have to find a way to pay for it. I'm probably moving home in a couple weeks. It's one thing to make myself "suffer", it's entirely another when it comes to "the kid".

I'm so sorry. Poor Boo. Poor you. At least this way you will still be near Ian (trying to see the silver lining.) Back in KS, I know a fabulous vet. You may even be able to call her for free advice. I once called her because Cosette was losing her whiskers and it freaked me out. Yeah, I'm a dork. Let me know if you want her info. She may be able to work out a payment plan as well. You know I'm here if you need to talk. *hugs*

*sigh* Well...I actually got denied the job. Frankly, it pisses me off and there was no reason that I shouldn't be given that job. I'm going to call the recruiter guy on Monday though, as he seemed impressed with my resume and we hit it off over the phone. (Apparently I tested really well, but the two schmucks (corporate fake-happy assholes) who interviewed me didn't recommend me) Anyway, if I don't hear anything by Thursday of next week, we're cutting the line and sailing home. I think I can get my old job back. Boo needs to go back to the vet and I have no money...not even any credit left.

He's drooly and his mouth stinks. Boo needs kitty dentist. He's being extremely picky with what he eats too, bastard (love him). I've tried so many combinations that I'm running out of choices. I'm thinking of asking the vet if I can do office work to earn the cash for his dental exam. :/
