Looks like I might be able to graduate this December.

Or, I could put off getting a real job until next May and actually "walk down the hill". Fine Arts grads don't get any pomp and circumstance for wintery completion.

Hmm. I think I don't care and want to be done with this.

Decisions, decisions.

Graduations are like most other ceremonies (weddings, etc.). They're more for the observers than the participants. If family desires aren't a consideration, do whichever you'd like.

Well crap. Since they're all pretty much local, I guess I'm walking down that damn hill. ;)

i'm gonna be the nerd and say that you should do the walk. it gives a huge sense of completion and its nice to experience it with friends from your program. it's important to have ceremony in life or else we just feel like we're slogging through everything with no finite ending, like animals. you've worked your ass off, sacrificed so many things, and stuck to a plan even though it took you longer than you would have liked. there were many times when you could have just said "fuck it" and given up, but you didn't and you need to be congratulated for that. you need to sit on a lawn in a robe and stupid hat, shake hands with some guy and see your parents cry because they're proud of you.

i walked both times in undergrad and even though the second time felt kinda lame- no one showed up except justin cuz they were all "yeah yeah, we saw it last time, here's a check", the first time felt great. and i am definitely walking next year as well.

Yeah, I think I will...but I might not stay for the whole ceremony. The art dept. is weird. Since I'm returning, I don't have a group of people I went here the whole time with. We'll see. The parents might be the deciding factor. ;)

You, dear lady, are the epitome of "working your ass off". I doff my cap to you in advance.

Yeah, but I foolishly just renewed my lease, so I'm here until next August anyway. Might as well take some classes and get a job. Eh, I don't even know.

congrats and all that shit.
Make sure you use and abuse the premises as much as possible before you leave.
Think of it as raiding the office suply closet when you know you are about to get your ass fired.
