HOLY CRAP

I just spent $1900.

I....I feel....excited, yet quesy.
*shakes fist in Apple's direction*

Seriously, why does ANYTHING having to do with ART have to be twice as much as it should be? World, why do you hate us so? Are you trying to weed out the lazy bastards, the half-assed unambitious? Well, could you do it without giving me the shakes. KTHNX.

The Precioussss arrives in less than a week.
Then I shall have to start reprogramming my brain.
Let's go, brain!

Dropped my Brit Lit to 1800 class because it sucked Old English BALLS (much worse than Old Spice or English Leather BALLS). I am now taking a 600 level Shakespeare class and it is FAR SUPERIOR.
Take THAT, Chaucer. You dick.

I've drank the Apple Kool-Aid a few times in my life...never a cheap escapade. Which one sucked you in? MacBook Pro, MacBook Air?

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh Jesus, not the Air. I can't even wrap my head around that one.
MacBook Pro, 15.4", refurb.

Nice, btw....Apple Kool-Aid. heheh.

I love my 17" MacBook Pro...does everything I need it to including running Windows when the job forces me to. The MacBook Air is neat, but underpowered and lacking the things I have come to expect, like a big hard drive, dedicated ATI or nVidia video chipset and optical drive onboard. They can keep the extra inch or so saved by cutting corners. Have fun!

[identity profile] darcgothic.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Weird, I wrote 17" (seventeen inch) but it came out as 13" (thirteen inch).

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I thought about the 17", but didn't want to carry that shit around. I can't wait....my nice new Timbuk2 laptop bag awaits The Precious.

Thank you!

[identity profile] darcgothic.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, when i first unwrapped the 17", I was like "This shit's too big!", but now I wouldn't be without it. Desktop power and size on the go...the only bummer is my slightly older model maxes out at 3GB of RAM. Yours will take 4GB. Jealous!

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
The Precious has shipped.
Oh yes.

[identity profile] i-muad-dib.livejournal.com 2008-01-28 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
niiice
I have been getting a stiffy over their new desktops but alas, I need to blow money on other things for now.

[identity profile] i-muad-dib.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I am not that cool.
Mainly, I am going to Italy with zoo in about 4 weeks!
Then I want to finish fixing up the condo, then some more travel around Europe, on my own.
Right now, I can fly to Vienna for 25 euros or Paris for 50. No reason to stay put.

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy crap.
Flights are pretty expensive here right now. :(

[identity profile] i-muad-dib.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Ya, I had looked into going to con this year and the answer is NOPE.
There is really no excuse for that kind of pricing.

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
We're in a RECESSION, man!
That's why we're all (probably) getting $600 rebate checks. Oh yes. Government at its finest. Bastards.

[identity profile] i-muad-dib.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
ahaha
I read about that.
I am sure that 600$ spent on shit will save the economy. Nothing to do with a failed war costing nearly a trillion, nuh uh.

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Pssh, people aren't going to spend it. They're going to save it. Didn't work in 2001, won't work now. And no, unjust wars have nothing to do with it. Don't be silly.

[identity profile] i-muad-dib.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering the current economic climate, I certainly don't blame them for hording it...or delaying that foreclosure by a month.

[identity profile] hearteststill.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Chaucer does suck, a whole lot.
and apple's shipping times are amazingly fast.
you should definitely get it in less than 5 days.
I got mine in 3 when I ordered it online.

[identity profile] livingimpaired.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I upgraded the harddrive to the 7200 rpm drive, and it took over a month and a half to get. it made me cry.

[identity profile] hearteststill.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
oh man. that's shitty.
they are bad about running out of shit.

[identity profile] livingimpaired.livejournal.com 2008-01-28 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
It was like a week or two after they had just come out with the intel based macs. You'd think they would have had some in stock knowing people would want to upgrade. But yeah, I likes my laptop so I can't really complain.

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
The printer and mouse have already shipped. Super fast!

I have to read Macbeth and write a paper tonight! Awesome!
