Go searching for a specific Vargas print and came across this shite.

Extra points for talking about my old school.

And what about the women who enjoy Vargas' work Ms. Dworkin? One of the problems with hard-core feminism today is that it's so black and white, men vs. women. What about the grey areas, the girls inbetween, the boys in the middle? Images of white perfection indeed, it's called fucking fantasy. Just today I was appreciating the realism in the girls of "Strangers In Paradise" and the unattainable, fantasy-like beauty of Alberto Vargas. Why can't I have both? Somewhere along the line, the soldiers fighting "our" battle forgot to ask us what we were fighting for and why. But I'm just a "girl", right...I should leave the real decisions up to the big, strong, insecure women.

I hereby revoke Andrea Dworkin's vagina.

I love that school actually. I only spent a year and a semester there, but I would go back in a second...if it wasn't in Kansas. (I grew up in Topeka.) Lawrence is a decent town though. What are you planning on studying?

I definitely recommend KU then. I was a Fine Art student there and the program is very cool. Great profs and art department, beautiful campus, great facilities and a very good art museum. If you take Drawing or Printmaking at all, take Michael Krueger. I miss that guy. :) I loved Art History there as well. *sigh* I've been considering going back, but the year of waiting for residency might induce murderous rampage. (All my family lives in Topeka and they're desperately trying to get me to come home...even though I'm 24.)

murderous rampage... yes...
I'll keep Michael Krueger in mind.. i was wanting to take some drawing classes if I went there..
i correct myself, my father grew up in wichita... things get interesting the more west one goes in kansas... though i did find that seeing a "beef, it's whats for dinner" billboard every mile or so on the highway amused me greatly...
i don't think i could go to college less then a plane ride away.. can't handle surprise visits.. so i sort of understand the topeka thing...
