Oh man...I hate those calls.

A woman called to cancel just now and wanted to know what this service was. I told her it was an "online men's magazine" like we usually do, and then she said she needed to cancel because her husband has died. BAM. Never expect that.
He was a member since 1998.

I hope, if I ever get married, that nothing has to be hidden from me like that, especially for that long.

Wow....she didn't even sound that old....that makes me sad...

Yeah...but you're VERY accepting with an open-mind.
That's something new in the world with OUR generation.
Granted---not everybody possesses it, but a lot more do than in the past.

"Online Men's Magazine". That's almost like the "girl's toys" and the "boy's toys" on the Target website. But, I guess you can't just describe it as online T&A to unsuspecting callers :)

You'd want to talk to the person about why they lied to you, but you can't...and then you feel bad for being angry at something when they're never going to be around anymore...ugh...
This is why honesty, no matter how hurtful it can be, is so very important.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? But I can be very jealous due to my low self-esteem/worth. I used to get so pissed off at Ryan for hiding porn. But then again, the key, maybe, is that he was HIDING it.

Yeah, "online men's magazine" doesn't fool a lot of angry wives. :)

It's possible she did know what it was or that he had it, she just had never looked at their bills before and thus didn't know what the description was pertaining to. At least, that's what I like to hope...

The worst still has to have been the father that called because his son, WHO HAD RUN AWAY FROM HOME, had used their shared card to purchase the membership when he was still living with them. The father wasn't upset that the son had bought it, but when we found out the son hadn't looked at it for months, it gave the father less hope that his son was even still alive. That was a very hard phone call to take. It shook me up afterwards. I didn't know what to say to him except good luck and I hope you find your son. How sad.

No...I wasn't that open-minded back then, at least not about that and with him. He didn't exactly make me feel confident and I was too young and stupid for something so intense. But yeah, the fact that he hid it just made it worse.
