I don't even want to post the link because it's such a stupid fucking way to find out about the death of someone who's shaped you as a person, but....

It really was/is. I was surrounded by artists, mostly of the young type, and it seemed like any normal day to everyone. I know I shouldn't judge or assume, but it will be nice to be around people who understand the lost. All of this, and I know I didn't really know him.

How terrible is this? I rarely cry, even over people I admire, but a good friend called me at 12? 1? a.m. when the news had just hit the wires. I cried quite a bit.

I keep recalling all his quips about life and death, his bit about wanting to sue the cigarette companies because he's not dead yet : D and how he may miss those passed, but wouldn't wish them back to this life. I suppose I extend him the same thought. I'll certainly regret never having made his acquaintance.
