(no subject)

Number of Starbucks in New York City that are within 2 blocks of each other: 68.

I would hate to see the numbers on Los Angeles.

:(

Okay...but what I want to know is, how do they know how long you really masterbated? Honor system?

nacho could make millions.

[identity profile] cinzazul.livejournal.com 2002-05-01 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah Honor system. And I'm pretty sure nacho would submit a time lapse video if they wanted him to prove his... "prowess."

Did you get that link I posted in your double entry? If not here again: http://www.toronto.com/profile/672037

Why don't they jush smoosh a bunch of locations into one giant Megastarbucks? That would sure save me money on explosives.

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2002-05-01 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
And think of all the assholes you could take out in one fell swoop?!

[identity profile] buscemi.livejournal.com 2002-05-01 12:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I like the way you think.

O_o

[identity profile] locopuff.livejournal.com 2002-04-30 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you TRYING to depress me? Is that what you're TRYING to do? Because it worked :P

Ew, Starbucks.......

Their coffee is so substandard and putrescent. I wouldn't feed it to a dog.

IT IS MY LIFE'S GOAL!

Noooooooo...it's sick though, isn't it? A dog on caffeine might be funny though. I almost typed "god" again.

In downtown Vancouver, there's an intersection where there are two Starbuck's, sitting kitty-corner from eachother. ;P

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2002-05-01 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
sick, sick, sick.

[identity profile] nic.livejournal.com 2002-05-01 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Starbucks do it to flood out neighbouring coffee places. They open far more than is necessary and most of the shops make a loss: but it's ok, because the cluster as a whole makes money. When the competition is forced to close down, Starbucks close down those shops making the least money - fuck the jobs, the other coffee houses...

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2002-05-01 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
I know. Their "business practices" are the reason I refuse to buy from there. I've lost a few good coffee shops to that shite.

That, and their product leaves a lot to be desired.

[identity profile] nejgasmo.livejournal.com 2002-05-01 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there used to be a really good coffee shop near here called Pettersons. It's been gone for a couple of years because Starbucks decided to put 3 locations, all in the same area, in a radius of about 4 blocks.

And Pettersons actually had good coffee. I usually hate coffee. I liked it there.

Then again, I do like Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, though there aren't many of those left either...

I remember that coffee shop...wasn't it on Venice near the hospital?

Yeah, now Starbucks is trying to drive out the Conservatory. Have you been there? I think it's owned by Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. It's right next to Victor's Jr. on Washington (near Sony).

[identity profile] catnamedcosette.livejournal.com 2002-05-05 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I think there is a small Pettersons across the street from the old location. I liked that coffee shop too. They had an open mike night and other things going on in that back room that were nice to go to.

Stupid Starfucks.

I hate Starbucks. Not only are they evil, they have shitty coffee and tea.

Funny story on that note:

When Eric and I were in San Francisco last month, we were walking around in search of coffee. He commented "It's so strange. I haven't seen a single starbucks since we have been here. I guess San Francisco is anti-corporate and perfers their smaller coffee shops."

I laughed my ass off. There was a starbucks right down the street when he said that. I made sure to point out every single one that I saw thereafter....the probably averaged on every few blocks, especially in the central business district.

I should have kept count. I would point at them and say "Hey Eric, what does that sign say? I can't read it from here" and he would tell me to shut up.

I never saw a Starbucks in Santa Cruz. Then again, it's been two years since I've been there, so if there is one it's new.

no city is immune to the crap coffee infection

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2002-05-02 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
HA!

Yes, it's funny how, if you don't really pay attention, you don't notice how many Starbucks there really are. Once you have an eye for it, it's sickening. I just saw a new one this morning.
Heh, they probably put it up during the night.
