from surly to giddy in 2 seconds flat

I just had an amazing conversation with an amazing boy.
And I want to talk to him more and more and more.
T-2.5 days and counting.

I had a dream while sleeping with him the other night. If you pay attention, you'll know I often dream of snakes. It's my fear of deception. Only this time, the dream took place right where I was, sleeping with Ian. There was a large snake in the bed, he didn't notice. It nearly paralyzed me, just looking at it. But I knew I had to get rid of it, so I grabbed it near the head, not knowing what kind of snake it was, and put it outside. Yeah, my dreams can be pretty straightforward.

I got a SECOND speeding ticket! :D AHAHAHAHA! Now that's just comical. Again, 14 miles over the speed limit. Cops in Topeka have NOTHING better to do. There was a time when this would have crippled my day/evening. He's not the only reason I'm okay with it though. Honestly, when shit like that happens...what are you gonna do? Nothing. Suck it up and move on. The me of 2002 would have dwelled. The me of 2002 had reason.

I wrote for a good part of today. I like that I love to write. Writing can be done anywhere and disguised as work VERY easily. Finally, getting paid for my glorious prose. ;p

p.s. WHAT THE BITCH?! LOOK at this lineup! I hate you SoCal people. *shakes fist*

dood, i don't know if i want to see the cure after al these years, and shatter the illusion of a skinnycute robert smith.

sorry about the speeding ticket. try to get an "amendment" if you can. fucking kansas is just like mexico. and, and, can i see a picture of this ian dude? i need the particulars. also, cow-jayhawk madness- i'd love to see that pic.

Yeah, I think I want to go (Inland Invasion) just for the stellar line-up aside from TEH CURE.

I went and got a diversion. Apparently if you just show up for the court date, guilty or not, it doesn't go on your record? WTF? Of course, the fine will probably be doubled. Cockamamie state.

Pictures are up!

dewd, i'm totally gonna go to that show...i HAVE to. i would be sacrilegious not to.

fuck ME if i don't get tickets!

[identity profile] scratchtasia.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
The National Motorists Association has a lot of information about fighting traffic tickets. You should never just pay them because you don't know when you'll get the next one, and it can wreak havoc on your insurance. I'm currently fighting one with the help of MissouriTrafficTickets.com. That won't help you in Kansas, but I got the link from the NMA site and they probably have some for Kansas. Paying a lawyer might cost more up front, but it could save you a lot in the long run.

Garbage Pail Kids?

I absolutely love your icon. That's just so disturbing and completely hilarious.

Thanks. I have this one, too--I usually use it for when I feel old or write about times gone by.

Ha! That's great. I remember collecting these when I was younger. I wonder what I ever did with them....

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a diversion for one of them. But you're only allowed one per year. Yeah, whenever I can get them off my record, I do. California done learned me well.

Thanks for the links though. I'll check them out when I get home. :)

[identity profile] scratchtasia.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
You're well ahead of me, then. I wish I would have fought the traffic ticket I got last year, but I wasn't very wise to the system. This time I was angry enough to start looking around.

[identity profile] catnamedcosette.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
This is a new side to you - one I've never seen before but like and am happy to "meet". I mean, this side of giddy-ness, happiness and no worries from life's little things. I'm so glad for you. And throw those snakes away. Relax and just see what happens, where it goes.

Also, I think we should take a road trip to California for September 20th. It'd just be wrong to miss that. I have no money, but hey, who needs to eat, right?

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2003-08-27 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you.
I am battling the occasional bout of fear and insecurity, but I feel more stable and equipped to handle it than I've ever been.

I have no money either! Let's go! :D

[identity profile] catnamedcosette.livejournal.com 2003-08-27 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if we drive the whole way, non-stop (just trading off while the other slept), then we could save lots in housing. Plus, once there, we can crash with friends. So, all we need is money for gas and we can live off fiber bars or something cheap. Hmm, I guess we'd also need money to make up for whatever time we miss at work...and money for the tickets...and money for a souvenier....and money for...hmm, yeah, I see this happening.

:)

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2003-08-29 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I am SO bad when it comes to having fun and saving money. You really CAN'T put a price tag on a good time.

[identity profile] catnamedcosette.livejournal.com 2003-09-03 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
too late - all sold out. steve could only get two tickets (he needed at least three), so he's decided to just sell those two and not go. bastard. he should give them to US. :)

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2003-09-04 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
And fly us out, and put us up in a nice hotel...and...and....YESSSSS.

[identity profile] catnamedcosette.livejournal.com 2003-09-05 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
YESSSSSSSSS, that's exactly what he should've done.

[identity profile] spacegirllost.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
yup... i know. half the people on the cure forum i used to moderate are going.
i'm ambilivent about it myself though. :\

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2003-08-27 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, honestly, it's the great line-up aside from the Cure that makes me most envious. I'm not chomping at the bit to see a pudgy and aging Robert & Co. :/ Damn, am I shallow or what.

[identity profile] spacegirllost.livejournal.com 2003-08-27 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
bahahaha!! he is getting a little rough around the edges, isn't he? i saw someone call him blobert the other day. and judging from the pic.. oof! pudgy indeed. it's sad in ways, but ... eh.

i'd just prefer to keep the images in my head of earlier days i think.

[identity profile] blustocking.livejournal.com 2003-08-29 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I love that icon, by the way. ;)

What the Deuce?!

[identity profile] screamapillar.livejournal.com 2003-08-20 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, I am SO going! If it wasn't for your post I've never would have known about it. I saw The Cure at Irvine meadows two years ago, so I got over the fact that Robert smith has man boobies. Heh, boobies ;-)

You lucky bitch.
I mean that with love. Love, and ENVY.
;)
